went for a 4+ run today in estimation with cara. it was a hot one out there, but we finished up with the hill behind the art museum and a couple of pick-ups to round it out. some pushups and situps to warm up b/c i don't do anything anymore during the week it seems and my strength is waining. i really need to work on that!

rotations!

while i'm convinced that working at the hospital is enough of a workout (i've never walked so fast in my life!), i put in a 4-miler today. just plodded along mostly, it was pretty hot, but ran a bit at franklin field, which is always inspiring. must work working out into my new routine. maybe.
so a brief update for those i haven't talked to about how delaware has been treating me. awesomely!! first of all, got my board scores backs and i somehow exceeded my expectations, which isn't like, oh, of course you did, you studied hard, b/c i thought i did not set them low. anyway, that is FABULOUS news. and i love christiana. the people there are wonderful, patient, funny, and i'm learning a ton. i had my first night on call on friday, which doesn't really count since they let me sleep for 6 hrs...but whatever, i slept at the hospital and woke up and saw my patient (i currently just have 1) before leaving for the day. awesome!! spending some long days and some really early mornings, but so far, none of it sucks and i don't mind the hours at all b/c i'm learning and it's exciting and really isn't too utterly overwhelming like i thought it might be. but tomorrow starts a whole week, so we'll see how i feel after 5 full days, and not just 3. but so far so good!

sad

i believe this year's tour de france is cursed.
first i was nearly devastated to find out via text message (while in maine, shopping for yummy lobsters) that jan and basso were yoinked from the tour less than 24 hrs before scheduled to start. did they test positive? no. have they shown communication or other direct evidence with the doc who has all the drugs? no. but jan's coach did. that may or may not mean that he did. but hell, can't he ride and then take the title away if proven positive like they did for roberto heras in last year's vuelta a espana?? maybe jan did take the easy way out to finish out his career on top. maybe basso did (that "alien" comment from the giro is starting to make sense now...). but why does barry bonds still get to play baseball and jan can't ride in this tour??? argh!!
and since then valverde crashed out. leipheimer sucked horribly. julich crashed out. floyd's handlebars broke today. there's almost no one left in the tour and none of it is making sense. now i'm not blaming lance for the curse (although i'm not eliminating him as the cause either), b/c maybe he saw it coming and got out while he still could. i don't know and maybe this makes me a conspiratory theorist, but i firmly believe that something is up. afterall, who is john galt?
